Easter Eggs!
I have seen the subtle, sophisticated sense of humor of the Development team, and I want more.
Example:
The group of drunken hunters playing drinking games southwest of Fort Ranik in pre-sear.
Or, Gwen, the cure little girl that will heal you if you give her a cape and flute, and gives you a piece of a special tapestry if you giver her enough flowers.
Nice touch...
Something you might not have seen is the message buried within Mhenlo's armor.
http://www.jainesoutpost.com/forums....&p=50684#50684
--------------
That said... I want more easter eggs! It's one of the great things in games that lets you get right into the RP'ing that makes a game come to life. when that sense of humor shines through and makes you want to be part of the story you're playing in...
"Kiiiiilrooooooy Stooooonekiiiin!" was a good example (modeled after Leeroy Jenkins ;> ). Great juxtaposition of old pop-culture and fantasy gaming... I nearly fell out of my seat when I realized that it was an NPC shout spell that added all that speed...
Keep that humor coming, Anet!

That Mhenlo thing is cool.
In Regent Valley you can find Grawl fighting. One of them is called Grawl Petitionor and another called Grawl Heretic! Religious War!
Also Mark of Rodgort and Rodgort's Invocation. Spell Rodgort backwards and you get T-R-O-G-D-O-R the burninator from homestarrunner.com .
Anet admitted they were fans of homestar.

There is a similar thread in another part of these forums, and that's where this thread belongs.
Sanitarium is for suggestions.

What I'm suggesting is that we get more easter eggs.
But, okay, go ahead and bump this.

ooh easter eggs
id like one involving presear, likeonce u finish all the presear quests (or something) you can see a farmer adding new "food" to the worms,
''eat up wormies, so you can get biiig and strong, and migrate!''
*chew chew*
''RRAAAWWR''
sand wurm, siege wurm, and frost wurm (i think those are the names) appear and other nromal worms disappear
*farmer dead*
''cmon guys lets migrate, ill go to shiverpeaks you 2 go to desert''
*others try to map* ''our maps wont zoom out''
''umm uhh....HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?''
(you)''oh um im on my way to postsear...''
''TAKE US WITH YOU SO WE CAN MIGRATE!''
''erm...okay''
upon entering the city the charr and ascalonians killed the wurms. and they exploded into a shower of black dye and there was peace between charr and ascalon, sadly the charr had already used those crystal things to nuke ascalon, then Rurik aggroed the charr before we could recharge energy, then they seared us,
then we ran away to the shiverpeaks, then i think he died, then we messed around with white mantle and shining blade for some reason, went to desert, killed me,went back to shiverpeaks, killed some mursaat, went to these volcano-ey islands, killed a lich, and farmed.........
to introduce new ''food'' into the imps diet MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA! (full blown ice/fire demons)time to put Tyria in jeopardy again! wow i got off topic

In ascalon there is a character named Ellie Rigby...
... Eleanor Rigby is a beautiful song by the Beatles.
Props to the Anet Devs for having good taste in music!

You made a suggestion, everyone else is adding current examples.
This thread needs to be moved and merged with the other one now.

Try to /dance against Abaddon (all human members have to /dance). South Park reference anyone?
What about 'I'm attacking The Darkness!"
many skills were named after TV series etc.
'shields up'
'victory is mine'
'none shall pass'
'can't touch this' (there has to be a warrior shout called 'Hammertime!' in ch4)
'go for the eyes'
many, many more.
Drakes on a Plain is full of references, and the skill itself seems to refer to Snakes on a Plane
but the Abaddon one really is the best one.

The boss that got Headbutt is named Enadiz Headbutt. If you spell it backward it make Zidane, the famous french soccerplayer who was sent off the field for HEADBUTTING the Italian player Marco Materazzi in the world cup 2006 final match, the last match of his career.
This one is well thought off

I really don't think you have to suggest easter eggs since the dev team obviously loves them. With the Luxons in Factions and the Uncharted Territories quest in Nightfall; I wonder if we have any Scapers on the dev team......

there are naga hides, and the collector who uses them to make furniture. Am I the only one old enough to remember naugahide furniture from the 70's and early 80's?
On the adding more Eggs,

It would be cool if players had a contest to help try and create easter eggs for the developers to secretly add in future games.
When playing Everquest 2, several people who attended Fan Faire, got to have characters put into the game whose names were puns or backwards spelling of the players names. It was cute and I think it'd be a special treat.

Or how about if you get Protector Of Tyria, then move on to the hard mode title (whatever that is) Rurik is referred to as "Captain Suicide" for the rest of the campaign? I'd <3 that.
